Green Infrastructure and Sustainability highlighted at recent session

The T2 Center partnered with the Metropolitan District to showcase the MDC’s Green Capitol demonstration project at a workshop at the State Capitol and Legislative Office Building in Hartford recently.  The session focused on Green Infrastructure and Sustainability in Public Works.  After a brief presentation by Carl Bard, P.E. the Deputy Chief for MDC’s Project Management Unit, the group took a tour of the Capitol grounds and viewed the areas where green infrastrucutre technology is going to be used.  The MDC will use a combination of treatments to handle stormwater runoff throughout the grounds, including permeable pavement, rain gardens, bioswales and rain harvesting.
