Congratulations to the Public Works Academy Class of 2013

PWA Class of 2013Our latest group of public works professionals has completed the Connecticut Public Works Academy and we are very proud of their accomplishment.  These 24 individuals came from across the state each Wednesday for six weeks to learn core skills in road building and safety.  Course topics included pavement maintenance and road fundamentals, work zone safety, flagger certification, communication skills, chainsaw operations and safety, chipper safety, winter operations and plow driving techniques, and operational safety.

We congratulate them for their commitment to professional development and thank them for sharing their experiences and time with each other to make the Academy such a success!

The Training & Technical Assistance Center at UCONN provides education and technical assistance to members of Connecticut's Transportation and Public Safety Community, including municipal public works directors, street and road maintenance superintendents and staff, city and town engineers, Connecticut Department of Transportation employees, transportation planners and law enforcement professionals serving as legal traffic authorities.
