It was another gorgeous day for the almost 400 participants in this year’s Expo. More than 60 exhibitors were on hand to share the latest in transportation technology and services, including several state agencies.
Several educational opportunities were available including:
Education Stations: This year, we teamed up with the CT Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection’s Pollution Prevention and Urban Forestry Departments, Call Before You Dig, the New England Chapter of the American Public Works Association, and The CT Tree Wardens Association to test participant’s knowledge on best practices and current regulations.
Dr. Jack Stephens Memorial Safety Challenge: We enlisted the help of CIRMA, CT OSHA, Signal 54 Training, CTI Staff, and Industry partners to challenge participants on proper safety procedures and hazard identification.
Exhibitor Demonstrations: Municipal and industry exhibitors showcased the latest in equipment and practice via hands on demonstrations and simulations. These included our current Creative Solutions Award winners, the Rhode Island DOT SnowPlow Simulator, the Town of South Windsor’s Sander Calibration and CN Wood’s Grade-All Back Hoe Challenge among others.
Thank you to all of our exhibitors for their support and a special thank you to those towns that helped with the planning and set up for the day. We couldn’t have done it without you!
